On 1 August 2007, the State-Regions agreement was signed concerning the "Reorganisation of the continuous training system in Medicine".
The agreement states, among other things, that every healthcare professional must acquire 150 training credits in the three-year period 2008-2010 according to the following breakdown:
50 credits/year (minimum 30 and maximum 70 per year) for a total of 150 in the three-year period 2008-2010.
In particular, of the 150 training credits in the three-year period 2008-2010, at least 90 must be "new" credits, while up to 60 may derive from the recognition of training credits acquired in the years of experimentation from 2004 to 2007.
The measures related to the incentives and/or sanctions that will intervene in order to acquire training credits will be adopted and disclosed following a discussion with the interested parties (social partners, trade organisations, etc.).
