In the category of over eighty-year-olds “there are few unvaccinated people left, some have not been vaccinated for concomitant health reasons, the most reluctant are the 60-year-olds ». This was explained by Pier Luigi Bartoletti, deputy secretary of Fimmg (Italian federation of general practitioners), who spoke to the microphones of the «Rotogravure 264» broadcast on Cusano Italia TV.
“Often – he adds – they are people who have had neither direct nor indirect experience with Covid, perhaps they have had untrue information on the real seriousness of the disease: those who have had such an experience get the vaccine right away. Instead, I see a great desire to get vaccinated in young people, perhaps also because they want to travel ».
“General practitioners – continued Bartoletti – make dozens of phone calls a day to explain to people who have not been vaccinated that they should get vaccinated to prevent them from having serious problems”.
On the availability of vaccines for general practitioners, the Fimmg deputy secretary underlined that "the situation has stabilized and is much improved, even if it seems that new supply difficulties could arise from this week".
