More than a thousand family doctors are expected in Villasimius (CA) from 2 to 8 October next for the annual congress of Fimmg, the largest trade union in the category.
Also this year the works will be divided into two main "moments": the more strictly medical and updating one managed by Metis, the scientific society of Fimmg, which will begin on Monday 2 October and will end on Wednesday 4, and the trade union one which will begin on Thursday 5 to close on Sunday 8 October.

At the center of the scientific work are the fragile people most at risk in our society today: those who have fallen into abuse and addiction, the young, the elderly. Of sure interest, among the many, is the report by Don Fortunato Di Noto, the inspiring priest of the Onlus Meter, at the forefront of the fight against pedophilia. Sessions on prevention, environmental protection, research and training in general medicine are also planned; worth mentioning, among other things, a round table on the training of family doctors, coordinated by the journalist Antonio Lubrano, which will be attended by Ezio Beltrame, councilor for health of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Maria Linetti, director of the office for continuous training of the Ministry of Health, Maria Pia Ruffilli, vice president of Farmindustria, and Aldo Pagni, president of the Scientific Committee of Metis.
Particularly awaited, then, the union meeting. After four years, in fact, the delegates of the more than 30,000 members of Fimmg will proceed with the election of the national offices that will lead the organization over the next four years.
At the opening of this phase of the works (on the morning of Thursday 5) the participation of the Minister of Health, Livia Turco, is expected. After the greetings of the authorities and the intervention of the coordinator of the regional health councilors, Enrico Rossi, the works will officially open with the report of the national secretary of Fimmg, Mario Falconi, on "Citizens and family doctors: from equity to denied health ”. In the afternoon of the same day and on the same theme, a round table will be held, also coordinated by Lubrano, with the participation of the Minister of the Family Rosy Bindi, Alessandro Cè, councilor for health of Lombardy, Cesare Cursi, vice president of the Health Commission of the Senate, Daniel Lapeyre, of the Presidential Committee of Farmindustria, Natale Mengozzi, president of Federsanità, Teresa Petrangolini, general secretary of Cittadinanzattiva, and of the councilor Enrico Rossi.
