The pharmacist must not adopt attitudes that may recall a real medical procedure.

At a recent geriatrics conference on local medicine, interventions by pharmacists are also planned, it happened to me that the owner of a medical office complained that, wanting to propose an economic electrocardiogram, he found that the nearby pharmacy was already doing it. What amazed me was the attitude of disappointment because he saw a competitor in the Pharmacy. I believe it is necessary to clarify what territorial medicine is and what the roles are. Those who go to the pharmacy for an ECG do not do it in the same spirit as they would go to a doctor's office. On the other hand, the pharmacist must not adopt attitudes that can recall a real medical act. Ours is a role of prevention and alertness, never disgnostic, and if anything we can be "recruiters" for all those who "not having time to go to the doctor" realize with little expense that instead it is appropriate. We have to be very careful in relations with other professions, there is room for everyone as long as the boundaries are clear.
