The last calendar year, and also the previous one, they have seen many Myrmex employees battle for a long time to avoid being fired. However, the company of excellence in pharmaceutical research has given a cold shower to 62 employees last February.
All this despite the fact that 15 million euros had been financed. A struggle, however, continued even after, with the listing of Myrmex. After long discussions with unions and workers, ready to take the company, many were again dumbfounded: in fact, just a few days after the dismissal, the company it was put up for sale for €9 million.
From here, a new battle full of meetings with the president of the Sicilian Region, Rosario Crocetta, and the hope of succeeding in his goal and giving work to 62 people. A light that, however, has increasingly lost its intensity: nothing seems to have changed to date.
The latest protest dates back to last year December 7 in front of the former Palazzo ESA of Catania: Crocetta's words have not yet become reality.

Ed: The American pharmaceutical giant Pfizer sold (as a business branch) the Laboratory in Catania (before Wyeth Lederle SpA): it was acquired for €1 by Myrmex owned by Gian Luca Calvi, nephew of Roberto Calvi. The transfer also provided for 6,647,743.00 euros as financial credits of the company branch paid by Pfizer by bank transfer to the transferee, ie to Myrmex. The acquisition of the laboratory also included all the research projects financed by the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR). The researchers have always declared that they have never worked a single day.
