The government forgets about self-employed workers: the decree expires, goodbye to the 200 euro bonus?
Self-employed workers (VAT numbers and professionals) are awaiting the implementing decree for take advantage of the 200 euro bonus. But the deadline has passed and the government has not intervened: what happens now?
June 21, 2022 – Stefan Rizzuti – Money
The bonus 200 euros for the autonomous has disappeared from the radar. The government seems to have forgotten theone-time allowance also provided for i VAT registered workers and for i professionals and again the implementing decree did not arrive. In reality at the moment there are many implementing decrees missing from the appeal that had to be introduced by the executive.
Those launched are only eight while those missing are 43. And 11 of these, as Il Sole 24 Ore points out, have already expired. Among those that have expired there is the 200 euro bonus – which is not said to really correspond to 200 euros – for self-employed workers, introduced by aid decree.
The implementing decree had to be published by June 17th from the Ministry of Labour in agreement with the Ministry of Economy. However, the decree does not exist yet and the self-employed have no news on the allowance and when (and how) it will be paid.
L'article 33 of the Aid decree introduces a one-off benefit fund provided for self-employed workers and non-employee professionals. The measure also provides for a financial envelope of 500 million euros, a figure that represents the maximum spending limit.
This allowance is for self-employed workers with VAT number and professionals enrolled in the social security management of INPS or other institutions. It is only paid to those who do not already receive the bonus 200 euros. The implementing decree must also define i beneficiaries of the bonus, establishing the income requirement in order to access the allowance. Precisely the decree of the Ministry of Labor and the Economy which has not yet arrived.
Autonomous bonus 200 euros, the decree has already expired
The government is clearly lagging behind with the preparation of the decree: it had to be adopted within 30 days of the entry into force of the Aid decree, dating back to 17 May. The implementing provision for the bonus 200 euros it therefore had to be enacted by 17 June. With this new decree they also had to be defined the criteria and methods for access to the one-off indemnity, as well as the limit set for each individual professional and the criteria for allocating resources.
Goodbye bonus? When will it come to the autonomous
However, the delay in issuing the implementing decree shouldn't worry self-employed workers and professionals: it doesn't mean that the one-off indemnity has been cancelled. The bonus will come, it is certainly not the first time that an implementing decree is late with respect to its expiry date and therefore there is nothing to worry about.
If not some timing, which may be longer. For employees the bonus 200 euros will come with the July paycheck, While for the self-employed there will be much more to wait. Perhaps, considering the timing for issuing the decree and then those necessary to allow beneficiaries to apply, we could talk about it after the summer, if not even approaching the end of the year.
