Astrazeneca will acquire part of Actavis drugs, 4th quarter accounts under expectations

AstraZeneca announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Actavis-branded respiratory medicines in the United States and Canada for an initial consideration of $600 million.

LONDRA, 5 febbraio (Reuters) – AstraZeneca ha annunciato di aver raggiunto un accordo per acquisire i farmaci per le malattie respiratorie a marchio Actavis negli Stati Uniti e Canada per un corrispettivo iniziale pari a 600 milioni di dollari.

L’annuncio arriva contestualmente ai conti del quarto trimestre, risultati sotto le attese.

Il gruppo ha inoltre stimato un calo ‘a una cifra singola media’ dei ricavi nel 2015 (a cambi costanti). Gli utili core per azione dovrebbero tuttavia aumentare a ‘una cifra singola bassa’.

In detail, fourth quarter revenues fell 2% to $6.68 billion, with core earnings down 38% to 76 cents per share.

Analysts had estimated sales of $6.79 billion and earnings of 82 cents per share for the quarter.

The stock yields 2.6% on the stock exchange.
