In recent days Assofarm, the Association of Italian municipal pharmacies, communicated doubts to the Minister of Health Renato Balduzzi about the changes proposed by the Government to the contents of the Agreement reached at the Aifa headquarters on 16 October last. "In the agreement of last October - affirms the president, Venanzio Gizzi - despite the unchanged expenditure as at 30 June 2012, a percentage of the price of the drug reduced to a minimum was set for the new remuneration of the pharmacist. If the new proposal subverts that approach, and taking into account the trend in drug prices, a significant drop in profitable volumes would be obtained, and consequently the already serious phenomenon of the loss of profitability of Italian pharmacies would be exacerbated".
