She was crossing via Romana, between the hamlets of Rivotorto and Capodacqua (Assisi) when she was hit by a Volkswagen Polo car driven by a 19-year-old local who killed her instantly. The victim of the tragic accident, which took place on Thursday evening around 10 pm, was a 58-year-old resident of Assisi - Patrizia Mattiacci, scientific informant of the drug - who was with her 16-year-old daughter.
"I did not see her". This is how the 19-year-old justified himself who, on Thursday evening, ran over and killed a 50-year-old woman, Patrizia Mattiacci, who was crossing the road near a semi-curve. The episode took place in via Romana, in Rivotorto di Assisi, around 10pm. Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done for the victim. A few meters away was the woman's 16-year-old daughter, who witnessed the whole scene.
It was the latter who witnessed the terrible scene petrified and was then rescued by the 118 due to an understandable state of shock.
The investigations of the carabinieri of the Compagnia di Assisi (directed by Major Marco Vetrulli) are underway on the dynamics of the accident. For the reconstruction of the fact, in addition to the photographic and planimetric surveys, more in-depth checks can be carried out on the car.
According to initial information, the 19-year-old novice driver was found to be negative in alcohol and drug tests and his cell phone has already been returned to him, once it has been ascertained that he was not using it at the time of the collision (no phone calls or messages or internet).
The white Volkswagen Polo was seized, while the Prosecutor of Perugia has already opened a case for vehicular homicide. The young man is defended by the lawyer Delfo Berretti, the coroner Laura Paglicci Reattelli takes care of the autopsy.
