the AIISF of Sardinia was invited to the broadcast "Don Chi” aired by the television station Sardinia 1 and conducted by journalist Gianni Zanata. The health councilor Prof. Nerina Dirindin was present in the office and met with various exponents of the Sardinian healthcare world (Court for the rights of the patient, nursing homes, affiliated specialist doctors, AIISF, etc.)
The AIISF delegation present at the broadcast consisted of Maurizio Lamieri, Antonio Scano, Valeriano Manca and Sergio Orrù.
During the debate it was possible to reiterate the following concepts publicly and to the Assessor
• The scientific drug information service, managed by pharmaceutical companies, is provided for by the LAW.
• The task of the Scientific Pharmaceutical Representative (ISF) is to bring to the attention of doctors and pharmacists information concerning the composition of medicines for human use.
• Pharmaceutical Representatives are employees employed and paid according to the national agreement for the chemical industry (CCNL): therefore they are not pharmaceutical representatives or manufacturers.
• Scientific sales representatives are not spending inducers.
• An appropriate prescription always leads to savings in health care costs
• Scientific Representatives and the AIISF ask the Assessor to be involved in the decision-making processes that concern them.
The broadcast made it possible to correctly represent and exhibit the professional role of the Sardinian ISF category, freeing it from the negative stereotypes that are being tried to impose from many quarters.
During the broadcast, the discussion with the Councilor was very frank; however, the general atmosphere in the hall, with many spectators also present, was very serene, open and available towards the problems of scientific information workers.
