The Report of the Observatory on the Use of Medicines in Italy (OsMed) of AIFA, which for years has been photographing the trend in consumption and expenditure on medicines in our country, is now interactive.
Browsing the new section ("OsMed interactive") on the Agency's website, it will in fact be possible to access with just a few click on tables and graphs selected on the basis of the search terms entered.
The system will return data on consumption and expenditure overall and by region, with a greater level of detail than in the Reports published up to now and will allow you to view the comparison between regions and the deviations from the national average.
The data can be filtered by drug class and by dispensing method (agreed assistance or purchases by the structures of the National Health Service).
It will also be possible to extract and print the tables and graphs obtained by customizing the search.
The new way of consulting OsMed data facilitates and simplifies access to a series of useful information for analysis on the use of drugs, monitoring of prescribing appropriateness, health planning, training and information.
It therefore constitutes a useful tool for national and regional decision-makers, for those involved in planning, prevention and purchases in the pharmaceutical sector and for pharmacists who manage the sector in the ASL or in hospitals, for doctors and for all health professionals.
The service, which will be enriched with new content in the coming months, is in any case accessible to anyone interested in this data.
