Vaccines: receive a dose without a puncture in Messina, it is the first time in Europe
Anna is the first person on the continent to get the vaccine with a needle-free syringe. “Amazing, I didn't hear a thing”
"Incredible, I didn't hear anything." Thus the young Anna from Messina on the administration of the vaccine with the Nfit, a syringe without a needle that injects the serum at high speed into the arm, in a few moments and without pain.
The medical device, especially suitable for 'agophobics', called Comfort-in, already certified by the European Union and used for other pathologies, was used for the first time on the Continent for the administration of an anti-Covid vaccine in the Fiera hub in Messina.
“The City of the Strait – said Alberto Firenze, commissioner for the Covid emergency – becomes a pioneer of a new system of inoculation of vaccine doses.
One way to convince people who fear the sting to join the vaccination campaign which has now reached important numbers and goals, especially in the province of Messina.
Today there is one more reason to receive the vaccine. At first it will be possible to get the needle-free vaccine in the Fiera Hub, but then we will also extend it to other points ”.
Comfort-in totally eliminates the needle and allows intramuscular administration with total absorption of the substance: Messina is the first city in Europe to apply the method already tested in the USA, Australia and India.
“Specifically, the device uses a disposable syringe called nozzle precisely sterile and without a needle – explained Arturo Maravigna, manager of the Gamastech company which has the exclusive Confort-in for all of Europe – capable of launching a high-speed jet into the arm by replacing the traditional puncture through a micro-hole 0.15mm which projects the drug into the human body in less than 100 milliseconds. Comfort-in was created for subcutaneous or intramuscular administration of medicinal substances and guarantees simplicity of use, safety, speed and effectiveness”.
