The V Tuscan Pharmacovigilance Seminar "National Congress of Pharmacovigilance of the Region of Tuscany" organized by the Department of Pharmacology, University of Florence in collaboration with the Tuscany Region, University of Pisa and University of Siena will be held in Florence on 5 December 2009 at Villa La Quiete. The National Congress, which resumes and expands the previous Regional Congresses, introduces a significant innovation this year: in fact, a large space is foreseen dedicated to professionals who, through the presentation of oral communications and/or posters, will be able to share their professional experiences thus contributing to the dissemination of knowledge, a fundamental prerequisite for enrichment in the field of Pharmacovigilance. In this regard, as the organizers' press release illustrates, the Scientific Committee of the Congress has decided to include in the programme, alongside the traditional Lecture, a series of Sessions in which oral communications will be presented as well as an exhibition of posters on some predefined themes. Including: Pharmacovigilance and Pharmaceutical Companies; Phytotherapy and Phytovigilance; Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Studies; Spontaneous reporting and active Pharmacovigilance; Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacogenetics. At the address www.drugsafety.eu all the information necessary for registering for the conference and submitting contributions is available.
