US pharmaceutical company Moderna Inc. has begun shipping the first batch of an experimental vaccine
against the Coronavirus, announced the Wall Street Journal: American researchers believe that by the end of April it will be possible to open trials on a sample of 20.25 people to test vaccine doses. The first results could be available between July and August.
Moderna has shipped the first vials of the coronavirus vaccine from its manufacturing plant in Norwood, Massachusetts to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in Bethesda.
Meanwhile, other countries are also engaged in the search for a cure: in Italy, Spallanzani of Rome uses three antiviral drugs to treat the Coronavirus, two that are usually used against Ebola and another effective against HIV.
In China, much of the treatment is based on the blood plasma of recovered patients.
