A study by The Boston Consulting Group on the profitability – Total shareholder return (TSR) – of listed companies placed the pharmaceutical company on the Italian podium for the period 2012-2016 after Brembo and before Leonardo.
On the podium of Italian companies that create more value for their shareholders is a pharmaceutical company, Register, which ranks second in the ranking drawn up by The Boston Consulting Group on performance in terms of profitability of listed securities.
Recordati is among the companies present in the Ftse Mib 40, with 42% of Total Shareholder Return(Tsr), the index used by the global consultancy firm to develop its assessments of the ability to create value. The data emerges from the study “How Top Value Creators Outpace the Market – For Decades”, developed to analyze the TSR of almost 2,500 companies worldwide for the period 2012-2016. In first place in Italy is Brembo (automotive, 58%) and third, Leonardo (36%).
The research also reveals an elite nine companies that have consistently outperformed their industry average over the past two decades. Seven of these are American, of which two are active in the pharma sector (Gilead Sciences and Celgene) and one in the healthcare sector (UnitedHealth Group).
