The reform of the Handbook for "therapeutically similar" categories starts today negotiated by Aifa in September with the manufacturing companies. Yesterday, in fact, the Agency published on its website the Transparency List of generic drugs with the new reimbursement levels and prices to the public resulting from the operation. As the accompanying text explains [ed: see below], the prices come into force as of today while the reimbursement quotas are triggered only in the Regions that have adopted the automatic adjustment to the Aifa lists. In the others however, it will depend on the date of publication of the implementing resolutions.
The list - which reduces the prices of 265 packs - should be followed by another listregarding the branded drugs involved in the review. In fact, as required by law 125/2015 (local authority decree), AIFA conducted the negotiation by keeping on and off patent medicines separate. (AS)
