But they won't go off if the doctor justifies the choice. Milillo: no to simple sanctioning procedures, we await the consultations with confidence.
The sanctions for doctors who carry out alleged inappropriate prescriptions do not vanish, but there is room for a comparison on the relative tables. This was stated by the Minister of Health Beatrice Lorenzin, who sheds light on the matter.
“Sanctions are foreseen – he says Lorenzin at Adnkronos Salutand – and will concern the ancillary salary. However, they will not be triggered when the doctor gives reasons for an apparently inappropriate prescription, therefore - he points out - there is the maximum guarantee for the citizen and for the doctor. As already said before the summer – continues Lorenzin anyway – we can review the tables. Before the decree we will still discuss with the scientific societies and the representatives of the doctors. We don't want to punish anyone - he underlines - but there is no turning back. We offer doctors support to prescribe the best, based on scientific evidence".
“We are not opposed to indications on the appropriateness of diagnostic prescriptions – he declared Giacomo Milillo to Fimmg Notizie - but these must be included in a broad framework of clinical governance and not attributable to simple and vexatious sanctioning procedures. We look forward to the consultations."
