«The composition of our market is particular, perhaps the only case in Europe that we have the 40% of companies with Italian capital and the 60% abroad. Thus the president of Farmindustria, Massimo Scaccabarozzi, speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of the expansion of the Eli Lilly production center in Sesto Fiorentino. «We need to trust investors - said the president of Farmindustria - and not make mere economies that do not help the country's development. If we look at the productivity index, according to Bank of Italy data, from 2001 to 2013 the productivity of the pharmaceutical sector rose by 55% compared to an average of 1% for the manufacturing industry. This means a great contribution to the country's economic growth». Scaccabarozzi also reiterated that, "if stability is guaranteed to us, we are ready to invest 1.5 billion and hire 1,500-2,000 graduates in the next few years".
Scaccabarozzi: "hospital spending is not out of control"
"When some institutions say that hospital spending is out of control, they lie knowing they are lying because it is so in absolute value, but net of shelves, public spending is decreasing" underlines the president of Farmindustria. "There are companies that will have to repay even 60-70 million euros on 2013 and the 2014 situation is not expected to improve". Scaccabarozzi also reiterated that he «is grateful to this government because, despite the requests for cuts in pharmaceuticals, it has avoided them because it cares about the country's growth. This is an important sign of stability».
