In Italy, the professional updating of doctors goes hand in hand with technology.
In fact, the 70% of white coats prefers to follow distance learning courses (Fad), rather than participate in congresses, seminars, workshops or other initiatives. Among the Fad offers, the most appetizing courses are those via the internet with the support of a tutor and the audio/video courses on TV.
This is the picture that emerges from a survey carried out on a sample of around 70,000 doctors registered on Doctor's Life, the first TV channel in the world dedicated to medical-scientific information and training, entirely free, edited by Adnkronos Salute.
The 73% of doctors prefers distance learning courses. Instead, there is a 15% of white coats who, despite TV, the web, apps and other latest-generation tools, continue to prefer residential-type training; the 11% instead opts for internship and clinical attendance.
Among those who choose the Fad, the 56% expresses its liking for web courses with the support of a tutor; 21% opts for television courses; the 12% chooses the multimedia cd-roms; the 11% courses on traditional supports.
The survey shows that the topics of greatest interest are above all surgery, cardiology and internal medicine. Followed by: general medicine anesthesia and resuscitation; dentistry; food science; psychiatry; forensic medicine; radiodiagnostics.
