Le Iene show, previews episode 3 March 2013

The investigation by the Hyenas dates back to about a year ago which demonstrated how some pharmacies detached the punches from an enormous quantity of drugs and sent them to the ASL, after having applied them to the recipes prepared ad hoc by the doctors. Once the barcode was removed, a portion of the drugs were resold unpackaged to customers without a prescription. In this way, with a single drug, the pharmacy could earn twice as much, given that, in addition to being reimbursed by the ASL, they tried to resell the same drug to a customer. To avoid this type of scam, various interesting experiments have been carried out throughout Italy. For example, in 2002 in Lazio it was decided for one month to ensure that each single recipe could correspond to only one die. In this way, pharmaceutical spending decreased by 39% with savings of 53 million euros in just one month. A very simple way to save Italians many billions.
In February 2012, Nadia Toffa interviewed the Minister of Health Renato Balduzzi to understand why this type of experiment aimed at avoiding scams or waste in the health field did not go ahead. The Minister stated that these trials might no longer be necessary because the electronic prescription would have been introduced, giving September 2012 as the expected date.
To date, however, the Hyena Nadia Toffa, by going to many Italian pharmacies, he checks that the situation does not seem to have changed. The Hyenas try to re-interview Renato Balduzzi, former Minister of Health of the last technical government, which moves away and prefers not to answer.
