The investigating judge of Florence accepted the requests for civil action from about 130 entities in the proceeding on the management of the Menarini pharmaceutical company: these are mainly local health authorities and regions, including Tuscany, as well as the Ministry of Health.

In the investigation closure notice, the prosecutors Giuseppina Mione, Luca Turco and Ettore Squillace Greco, who coordinated the investigations by the carabinieri of the nas, had quantified the damage to the national health system at 860 million euros.
On February 26, the investigating judge will entrust the task of the expert report to the patron of Menarini, Alberto Aleotti, 90 years old: accepting the request of the defenders, the lawyers Alessandro Traversi and Roberto Cordeiro Guerra, his position has been removed pending verification whether the his health conditions allow him to participate in the trial.
There are 13 defendants: in addition to Alberto Aleotti, accused of fraud against the state, there are his children Lucia and Giovanni, accused of money laundering and tax evasion.
