At least in some therapeutic areas, the skills of NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence) appear incomplete to companies in the sector. The same "British Farmindustria" (Abpi) criticizes the composition of the panel of experts that make up the Nice as many of them do not have sufficient experience on how certain medicines are used in clinical practice. According to Barker, director of Abpi, Nice should listen more to patient associations and their needs. Another hot spot targeted by Abpi is the project to revise the price definition system by the Office of Fair Trading and the principle of the reference price: for Barker "a kiss of death for innovation".
