1- In the payroll of our health service there are 648,384 employees, divided into 444,120 belonging to health roles, 125,093 to technical roles, 76,555 to administrative ones, while 354 are personnel with atypical qualifications, to which are added another 665 contractors. Out of the total number of employees, the "fairer sex" dominates, representing just over 60 % of the staff. In contrast, however, the medical profession which is still very "masculine": as many as 71,510 "white coats" employed by the NHS are men against 33,979 women.
2- The National Health Service pays more priests than dentists: 417 religious assistants against 163 dentists.
