AIFA is releasing, in agreement with the Regions and the Ministry of Health, a national plan for the appropriateness of the prescriptions "because all the institutional bodies involved are convinced that it is the central point for governing pharmaceutical expenditure and protecting citizens' rights". This was announced by Nello Martini, director of the Italian Medicines Agency (Aifa), who spoke today in Rome at a meeting organized by Aschimfarma. “I believe - he underlined – that it is necessary to focus on the appropriateness of prescriptions to keep pharmaceutical expenditure under control in Italy.
