The 'three-in-one' pill to prevent heart attack and heart disease should arrive on the market between 2009 and 2010. And Spain will be the first country in the world where the drug will be available, which concentrates the generics of three widely used medicines: a statin to lower cholesterol, an antihypertensive and aspirin. The pill, which therefore acts on three fronts against some of the main risk factors for the heart, should be given to patients who have already suffered a heart attack to avoid a new attack.
